A proper signoff after 10 years as a live service game.

Type - Documentary / Interview

Purpose - The end of PD2s production was coming so we wanted to make a documentary about how it was like working on PD2. We let the employees talk about their experiences and if they wanted to say anything to the community.

My Role - I was in charge of whole process together with my colleague.

Approach - In a span of 3 months me and my colleague interviewed developers for the PAYDAY2 game. We had a diverse set of questions that could generate some interesting answer. All interviews were shot at the office.

Accomplishment - Over 20 interviews with people from different departments. A lot of positive feedback from the community and employees telling us it was nice to tell their story.

The idea was to make a indie studio documentary. It should look like we just came up to them to have a chat. The goal was to make them feel so conferrable so it felt natural.

A challenging part was to find visually interesting part of the studio to shoot all the 20 interviews. By being creative I managed to get 3 different shots of the same place something Iā€™m very proud of.

One of the most important thing was to make everyone involved with PAYDAY 2 feel like they also are a part of the video even though they did not want to participate in the video. So the idea was to make a wall of signature of the people involved. Using their own hand written signature gave it more of a human feel.
