Dragan Files

I will find you all!
Dragan is on a mission to find the old heisters from the past to invite them in to the fantastic life as a heister.

Type - Movie series

Purpose - We aim to reshape the narrative within the community and expand the universe of Payday 3 outside the game.  So by making a live-action series with our beloved character Dragan (Dragomir Mrsic) we move the focus from our challange with the game to the story of PAYDAY.

My Role - I was in charge of the whole process (except writing the script)

Approach - With a limited budget and time create a high production value video.

Accomplishment - This significantly boosted community engagement, resulting in a 300% increase in unique visitors to our website. The amount of intriguing content available drove conversations and discussions among community members. The sentiment shifted to one of excitement, as the presence of a beloved character and actor generated considerable hype about upcoming developments.
The sentiment transformed into one of enthusiastic anticipation. Featuring a beloved character and actor has energized the community, making them eager to see what's next.

How can a simple phone call be that interesting?!

The concept for this short film series is to expand the lore of PAYDAY further. The story revolves around Dragan, a former Payday gang member, who is approached by Shade, a contractor, seeking his help. She enlists him to handle some of her dirty work.

This project differs from my previous film work, aiming for a more dramatic tone and high production quality, despite being given a small budget to move around with.

With limited time with the actor, we had to prioritize our shots carefully. The day’s schedule included filming three scenes and a photoshoot. During that time, we focused on capturing key shots of Dragomir from as many angles as possible. The B-roll was planned for a separate day, and thanks to our talented team and creative framing, we were able to make it work effectively, even without the actor present.

I dedicated significant effort to the sound design for this project. I incorporated various ambient noises, such as the hum of ventilation and distant traffic, and adjusted the EQ to achieve the desired sound. These elements were crucial in making the environment feel more alive.

This was and is a very fun project to make. Se the full series on PAYDAY3’s Youtube channel.
